What is a ME/IR ?

ME/IR means Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating.
ME is the rating you need to fly an aircraft with two engines.
IR is the rating you need to fly IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). You will need to fly IFR when the visibility is low or to fly into clouds. The only way to find your route and to make a final approach for landing in the fog will be your instruments.
